Thanks to my parents, I’ve spent more time in the Canadian Rockies than a boy growing up in Winnipeg had any right to expect. Even though I now live in the godforsaken East, I try to get away to the mountains as often as I can — which is never often enough. This section of my web site describes some of the Rocky Mountain trails I’ve hiked over the years, with whatever photos I have available to share (some are mine, some are my father’s).

This is a personal project, not an objective resource; I don’t dare claim that this is in any way useful or definitive, or that my opinions are anything but subjective. In other words, enjoy, but please don’t rely upon.

Other trails hiked: Baker Creek (skiing), Banff, Jan. 1990; Boom Lake (skiing), Banff, Jan. 1990; Elk Lake (skiing), Banff, Jan. 1990 (portion of trail); Forty Mile Creek (skiing), Banff, Jan. 1990 (portion of trail); Johnston Canyon/Ink Pots, Banff, July 1992; Paradise Valley, Banff, July 1998; Paradise Valley (skiing), Banff, Jan. 1990 (portion of trail); Parker Ridge, Banff, Sept. 1998; Plain of the Six Glaciers, Banff, July 1992; Plain of the Six Glaciers/Big Beehive/Lake Agnes, Banff, Sept. 1998; Spray River Circuit (skiing), Banff, Jan. 1990; Stanley Glacier (skiing), Kootenay, Jan. 1990; Stoney Squaw Mountain, Banff, Aug. 1988; Wilcox Pass, Jasper, Sept. 1998 (generally, I lack enough decent photos to set up pages for these trails).

Trails wish list: Akshayuk Pass, Auyuittuq; Berg Lake (Mount Robson), Mount Robson; Carthew-Alderton Summit, Waterton; Crypt Lake, Waterton; Floe Lake (Rockwall), Kootenay; Iceline Trail, Yoho; Lake O’Hara region, Yoho (generally, I’m not healthy enough to pull these off, but I can dream).
